Tarptautinis festivalis „Nerk į teatrą“ kviečia išlaisvinti emocijas

Can you believe that one can play musical instrument without even touching itself?
“𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐢𝐫“ – these are the words of a famous performer, describing the first born electronic instrument. Accidentally invented about 100 years ago, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧 had to be a prototype device for gas density measurement. The instrument produces hauntingly appealing, somewhat extraterrestrial sound, easily confused with coloratura soprano timbre. It is played by performing specific gestures next to two antennas attached to the main body of the instrument.
Only very few musicians have fully mastered this capricious instrument. One of them is world-renown violinist, singer and thereminist 𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐀 𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐘𝐈 (Hungary). Together with Kaunas Wind Orchestra „Ąžuolynas“ (celebrating its 60th anniversary this year), Katica Illényi will perform famous melodies by many various composers, including Lithuanian.
The concert is dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the first theremin virtuoso 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 (1911-1998), who was born to a Litvak family in Vilnius, Lithuania.
