After more than a century Vilnius dance theatre Low Air is seeking to resurrect the ballet and carry it through the urban choreography, and especially created music.

Although in Lithuania, like in the rest of the world, “The Rite of Spring” versions have been developed quite a lot, but it will be the first urban interpretation of this classical piece.

Idea and choreography by Laurynas Žakevičius and Airida Gudaitė – well known Lithuanian urban dance artists, the creative due known as Low Air, who uncovers the artistic potential of street dance and introduces it to theatre lovers across the country.

Together with the choreographers on the stage young talented contemporary dancer Agnietė Lisičkinaitė, pioneer of waacking dance style in Lithuania Brigida Gruodytė, the first vogue dance ambassador in the country Raidas Petrauskas and specially for the performance from the prestigious Codarts University for the Arts brought young dancer Lukas Karvelis.

* reviews:

The performance is characterized by choreographic pace of change: a quick transition from one to the other dance technique, highly active contemporary and street dance fusion. The movement changes the movement, one moment it’s modern, next – it’s already the street dance. [Krisitina Apanavičiūtė]

Stravinsky's music was the thickest and strongest foundation of the show. Intensity of the classical piece provided the choreography with life and strength. Classic and contemporary dance with elements of street dance – like a new genre of discovery, all natural. It seems that things have to be this way. [Toma Mačiulskytė, Literatūra ir menas]

The prank of street dance by L. Žakevičius. and A. Gudaitė (along with musical oddity - Lithuanian folk melodies), boldly stamped on the sacred classical music is actually possible. The six dancers (including – authors themselves), particularly men, worked technically and creatively excellent, according to the style of music dissonant. [Literatūra ir menas]

This urbanist interpretation of Igor Stravinsky's work is fascinated and impassioned. Ministry of Culture Young Creator Award Winners have made a magical performance! [Liana Ruokytė-Jonsson, Minister of Culture]
