"Chaos” tells the story of three women. Sofia (Dalia Michelevičiūtė) is a teacher at a school which is about to be closed. Julia (Rimantė Valiukaitė) – a psychotherapist who constantly has affairs with her patients. Emi (Toma Vaškevičiūtė) – an impulsive reporter who juggles the roles of a young mother and an ambitious career woman. The events that take place one winter and spring basically mess up their lives. They realize that they MUST DO SOMETHING. The problems which the heroines of the play are facing are connected with their own personalities, and the rather insensitive social environment. They draw strength from their strong friendship and find place for humor even in the most hopeless of situations.

The play has been translated into English, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, German, Russian, and Hungarian, and staged seven times in Finland alone. It has been presented at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Yana Ross: “Chaos” is an exploration and a projection of modern man who aims to control everything, while balancing on the verge of a psychological crisis and the outbreak of violence. This play is one of the most mature and prominent works by Mika Myllyaho. It consists of episodes, its action shifts between the past and the present of the characters, conveying recognizable characteristics of their personalities. M. Myllyaho shows the modern world and argues that there’s a direct link between the material crisis and the spiritual one. People are overwhelmed by so many problems that their horizon has narrowed to complete blindness.
