Inspired by personal experience, this solo dance performance focuses on a sensitive societal issue: bullying and its effects. The author of the performance highlights how the imprints of the painful experiences remain in our memory, our body, and are reflected in the choices we make, eventually becoming our inner prison. The performance reveals the different states of the body and mind that the victims experience during their life. The last of these states is acceptance, which can awaken a desire to share the experiences by raising public awareness about bullying. In the sensitive language of dance, the performer (en)tangles his painful experiences from the past and offers the opportunity for reconciliation.

‘Whatever you create will be influenced by the energy you carry inside of you when you create it’ Akiroq Brost

The performance explores the concept of the body as the energy generator. The artist seeks organicity resulting from the flow of physical sensations, vibrations, following the voice of intuition. She gives herself time to develop, she also gives the audience time to tune their own bodies with the performer's. This piece is about tension, attentiveness and calmness, as well as the strength that can always be found by standing firmly on one's feet and breathing in and out deeply.

*Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is a method of pain relief involving the use of a mild electrical current. The electrical impulses can reduce the pain signals going to the spinal cord and brain, which may help relieve pain and relax muscles. They may also stimulate the production of endorphins, which are the body's natural painkillers.

Marta Wołowiec (born in 1991) is a Polish dancer, performer, choreographer, head and co-founder of Krakow Choreographic Centre. She created two solo performances with live electronic music titled ‘Hold on’ and ‘Tens’, in which she also performs. The co-author and dancer in interdisciplinary performances which combine movement, multimedia and music (‘Naturgemälde’, ‘spectral layers of movement’ and ‘Wyspiański’s women’). In 2015-2019 she was a member of artistic collective Grupa Wokół Centrum. Previously associated with Krakow Dance Theatre.

Wojciech Kiwer works as a sound engineer at the The Helena Modrzejewska National Stary Theatre in Krakow. In his spare time, he creates his own music and produces it also for performances, films and games. Building his own instruments, he explores the new methods and techniques. He walks, records, processes and recreates. The co-author of three sensory and sound installations for children and adults.
