Ursula K. Le Guin, who passed away in 2018, is best known for her classic Earthsea fantasy series and masterworks of science fiction like Left Hand of Darkness and The Dispossessed. Arwen Curry filmed with the groundbreaking feminist author for a decade to make the feature documentary, which features Margaret Atwood, Neil Gaiman, David Mitchell, Michael Chabon, and more.


About director:

Arwen Curry (Project Director) served as Associate Producer and Archivist of PBS American Masters film EAMES: The Architect and the Painter (2011), and associate-produced both fot American Jerusalem: Jews and the Making of San Francisco (2013), and Regarding Susan Sontag (2014). She associate-produced five 30-minute science and technology documentaries for KQED between 2012 and 2014, on subjects ranging from reawakening extinct species to the new era of space exploration. Curry’s short 2006 documenetary, Stuffed, took viewers into the lives and homes of compulsive hoarders to better understand our connection to the things we own.

Arwen is an San Francisco Bay Area native and a graduate of the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, where she studied documentary film with Jon Else (The Day After Trinity), Debbie Hoffmann, and Frances Reid (The Times of Harvey Milk). Curry has also written for magazines, radio, and film.
