Georgian National Ballet ''Sukhishvili''

The eighth wonder of the World is how the Sukhishvili ensemble was dubbed by the international press.

The repertoire of the ensemble includes dances of Georgian peoples and dramatized plot performances accompanied by Georgian folk instruments.

In Estonia, the audience is waiting for an unprecedented spectacular show: 100 dancers and an orchestra, hundreds of beautiful colorful costumes and fifty exclusive sabers are on the stage.

The famous Georgian group - the Sukhishvili National Folk Dance Ensemble - was founded in 1945 by spouses Iliko Sukhishvili and Nino Ramishvili.

It was the first professional ensemble in Georgia. Before its founding, folk dance did not exist in its current form, but thanks to the Sukhishvili family, folk dance began to develop.

Already in 1948, the ensemble toured Europe with successful guest performances. They were already called the "eighth wonder of the world". Today, the third generation of the well-known ensemble  leads a dynasty of choreographers.

In the beginning, the troupe consisted of 35 people, now there are already 100 dancers in guest performances.

The current directors of the ballet troupe are trying to make the concert program more modern, but the main number is still dance on the toes - one of the symbols of Georgian culture.

During its history, the Georgian folk dance ensemble has made more than 300  international tours, visited five continents and 88 countries, giving about 25,000 concerts on world stages to approximately 90 million spectators. Their four-week guest appearances on Broadway were declared "the best show of the season".

The National ballet of Georgia became the only dance ensemble that set a world record on the famous “La Scala” stage in Milan. The concert caused a furor: the curtain of the theater was drawn 14 times, so the record of Enrico Caruso was broken, where the curtain was drawn 11 times.
